how reliable is this? i mean shifting at 8k ++ rpm? doesnt sound safe anyone with tech background/ facts have an answer on how that works on our engines.

as long as the valvetrain and all has been designed for it, it's not going to hurt it. 8k rpms is the midrange for a street bike motor and the VQ motor is more advanced.

Question is, would a stock system tuned with exhaust have gained more than with the Injen? This is the question: do any of the aftermarket intakes actually produce gains over the stock intake? Unlike wheels, which everyone readily accepts a performance hit to gain in the looks, intakes/exhaust/etc. are considered performance parts and at the very least, should not lose power--doesn't matter how sweet the sound is!

Generally, if you rev your engine over the rev limit, you will put more stretch on the bearings and springs. Thus, the life of those parts will be shorten. When the manufacture set up the rev limit, they already calculate the liability of the metal that those parts are made of. So going higher than manufacturer limit without any upgrade will shorten the live of your engine.
Bikes have higher rev limit, sometime up to 11k rpm, because their engine designs are different. One of many factors that allow them to get high rev limit is that the cam shaft and crank shaft are much shorter than in cars' engines.
However, only 400rpm is not a big deal to me on VQ engines.

Is that a Dynapack or Dynojet? 300+ rwhp on a Dynapack is a good solid gain. 300+ rwhp on a Dynojet is ridiculously fantastic.

I wouldn't go that far just yet. It's unclear if the Injen showed any increase. From the comments it appeared that the Injens had equal results to stock.

true, but even that is an accomplishment in itself when compared to the so-called "failed" intakes...plus the injen intake sounds sooooooooooooo much better than stock

^+1 also remember that on G37 the Injen did produce 2-4whp gain, it was bogged down due to the fact that they promised 14whp and ppl only got upto 4whp which at least is not a LOSS like stillen and fujita etc

DAMN Nice Numbers!! But "THEY NEED 6MT ECU's"!! I called them today and gave them my ECU #'s, and said they don't have any 6MT car ECU that they can reflash! Said I would need to send to them, so they can send to Japan, and then back to them for the Flash, then back to me. Which would take like 2-3 weeks! So common anyone near there With a 6MT car, needs to drop off thier car or thier ECU, so us 6MT guy's can get this reflash done! And I think it would be a free flash for giving up your ECU for a couple weeks! Wish I lived in Cali! I would jump on this right now!

4whp was in fact WITH other breathing mods such as full cat-back exhaust AND HFCs. Without ANY other breathing mods (read: completely stock), Injen CAIs would have added more than 4whp.

The fuel map and cam setting between 37 and 35 engines are completely different. Therefore, the gains you see with the Injens are also very different.
