Exhaust Heat sheild Locations?

Hey guys,

I've searched but I haven' been able to find an answer, So any of you know where all the heat shields for the exhaust are? I'm getting this crazy rattling, from the pictures of the stock exhaust it seems like the stock Ypipe has a heat shield on it, are there any are are attached to the car? I dont' have a ramp or lift to look under the car thanks!

Csquared,

Have you checked the exhaust manifold. I know that a lot of manufactures put them on and when they vibrate, it sounds awful.

Hope this helps

I know it's on the Y pipe, I have HFCs which is bare, So i'm wondering if there is anything else that could be rattling.

Isn't the exhaust manifold the headers? How can i make that stop rattling?

Yes, the exhaust manifold/header would be in the same location. I haven't looked at the engine too closely yet. Most of the time I just removed the heat shield on previous vehicles...mainly 4x4s because I couldn't get it to go away. I don't know how sensitive to heat our engines are with the composite intake and everything else.

Maybe someone else can jump in with a solution. Sorry

Yeah I was checking out your pics, thats how i came to the conclusion that it's only of the Y pip. and it's the cats as well but I took those off lol. I just need to figure out what is rattling against what and then do something about it. The annoying thing is it doens't really rattle when it's not under load so i can't have some one rev and check out what is rattling, unless i strap a camara under the car the drive off.
