Honestly, either way you go you're going to be happy with it. I doubt you'll feel much extra performance from the FI vs Stillen. Either way you're going to have a sick exhaust and its going to sound great (the drone in the Stillen has been said to go away after the exhaust gets broken in). For me it came down to price, but for you maybe other factors - but either way you'll enjoy it!

Well there is a guy I know from MYg37 that has his exhausts and test pipes from FI in dubai. So i'm sure the people at FI know what they are doing when they ship there. I Personally like the tips on my Tanabe, And I don't really like the new tips FI use. Maybe it's the pictures, but it seems to exagerate how the inner pipe is way smaller than the tip is. I Guess i need to see it in person.

popcornten - Yeah I know I won't feel much of a difference but it's just good to know the exhaust is less restrictive and is helping performance when paying over a grand for it.

Clement - Yeah you're talking about Sam from myg37, I saw that he got test pipes but his car has an Abu Dhabi plate number. They're more lenient with mods than the guys in Dubai are.
I feel the 4" double walled tips make the exhaust look more aftermarket. Here's a pic compared to boss81's pic.

I've heard the Stillen is quite good also but a friend of mine (Wes) said it has some highway drone. From what I'm told, the Stillen and the FI sound pretty much the same except for the drone.

Also the newer FI setup is a little louder and more aggressive than both the previous setup and the Stillen so I'll probably be going for that.

The fact that the FI is a true dual exhaust is great since my service guy at the dealership says the stock exhaust with the Y pipe restricts the exhaust and hurts performance (although minimal). It's good to know that the FI increases HP and TQ to some extent whereas the Stillen, as Clement said, is basically the same Y pipe setup as stock.

Hopefully Tony gets back to me on the new catback and gives me a reasonable quote without the CF on the muffler since it would be pointless and I'll be placing my order ASAP.

So what are your opinions guys, 4" double walled rolled tips like the Stillen or the 4" Sebring tips that come with the FI exhaust?
hey Borna - i just saw this thread.

Correction: Generally speaking, there is no highway drone. If your crusing at 120km/h; your gold. I generally get drone between 2k-3k rpm. Drone will vary dependent on how the temperature is like and how long you've been driving. If your just driving sedately around town and havent been driving for a while, its fine. But when the car & exhaust is hot from extended periods of driving (or driving hard), thats when you get the drone between 2-3k rpm.

But it does smooth out after having the exhaust on your car for a while. Expect lots of drone initially.

HMMMMM... now about restriction. Just from my qualitative opinion, I feel, the stock exhaust having more "kick" during the mid range (3-4K) as a result of the restricted pipe. I feel I kinda lost that in mine. I get more power at the top end (also I feel the car revs faster and wants to downshift more). So im personally not sure about having less restrictions... thats just me. I feel I lost that mid range kick... :S (either that, or I need to reset my ECU and have my car relearn my driving).

But knowing you, I know you'll appreciate the sound the the stillen makes. No doubt about it. Even if it has a slight drone at times. I honestly dont think you need any louder than stillen.. lol Its PRETTY loud when you want it to be. And quite "VROOM VROOM" even on gentle acceleration in the lower rpm ranges.

I never heard in person or sat in a car that has F1, so i cant speak on that behalf.

Good luck with whatever you decide. I think either way, you'll be glad

Oh for sure go for double wall, I thought you were talking about the new FI tips, I don't like those although some people love them a lot more than the old ones, both my old tips and my tanabe's are double wall and I love them.

For sure go double walled tips. I honestly think the Stillen looks better on the car - just the way the cans flank the sides of the bumper - I'll try and put some pics up on the thread I started tomorrow. And I don't know what the HECK that guy was thinking with his debadge/rebadge job but it's awful.... I don't get why you would remove the mt fuji instead of the infiniti, and even worse is moving the g37s (is it really a g37s or does it just have those badges?) to the bottom....ick

No it's not a real G37, I remember there was a picture of it with the hood open and the engine cover was 3.5

popcornten - The red G is the widebody G that Adrian had started a thread on a while back. Here's the thread https://g35driver.com/forums/picture...an-pics-2.html

Wes - Thanks for the info dude, but from what I've heard, the Stillen itself is still restricted. That's why the power in the mid-range is lacking.

And the problem with the highway drone is that I drive on the highway all the time, and
I can't always go a steady 120 km/h so I'd prefer the FI with less drone.

The FI won't be louder than the Stillen (sorry said that by mistake), it'll only have a deeper mroe aggressive "growl" to it.

I'll ask Tony if he can put on tips similar to the Tanabe's, cause it looks perfect from the angle Clement posted, and I'll be set.

Clement got any more pics of the Tanabe tips?

No man don't worry about it, don't wanna bother you or anything.
Thanks a lot though bro.
I just wanted to see the tips a bit better but these 2 pics are good enough. I'll let Tony know I want tips similar to the Tanabe's and he should be able to put it together for me.

I thought having some restriction is good for low end kick?

I have heard a couple of guys mention that in this forum.
