custom exhaust ppl please chime in

as some of you may know i have a custom exhaust done. i have tanabe axle backs with 2.5" straight ss pipes going through a magnaflow xpipe and hfc. its raspy as hell and i was told to get a magnaflow mid muffler and it would get rid of the rasp. is this guaranteed?? i dont wana spend another 200 for a mid muffler installed if the rasp is still going to be there. anybody have definite answers??

Uhhhh, I have Tanabe, Berk HFCs, and a Magnaflow resonated X pipe and there is no rasp and it sounds Sexy as hell.

Is yours just an X? and where is your X located? Here is a picture of where I put my resonated X.

I basically have the same exhaust as you lol. Oh my pipes aren't as wide as yours though I think, I'm 2.25 except the X pipe which is 2.5

Yeah I cut out the Stock resonators because I got the muffler over the X, I'm not sure how it would change the sound if you got 2 bullet mufflers. Because now I think the only place you can put them is in the 2 pipes between the Tanabe mufflers and the X pipe. I would try to contact Adrian (2gornot2g) cause I think he has tanabe mufflers X pipe and Mid mufflers that are separate and not like mine. Sorry i can't really help, I'm not expert lol.

Why don't you try wrapping the exhaust with heat wrap?
G35s-Dude was saying he used it on his Invidia exhaust and it doesn't have any rasp whatsoever so it should do some good on your setup.
Not sure about this though but it's definitely worth a try.

Otherwise, your best option would be the resonated X pipe that Clement has.

I'll be posting pics of mine in a few days... things didnt go so well installing my springs sat. we tore the driver side, inside CV boot... so i had to leave car 30 miles away from my house but, we did get springs in and i must say it looks quite good!! but had to scramble to get boot kit from dealer, ( who didn't have it) as far as exhaust,, i removed Y-pipe, and resonators, with i nice custom X pipe, all the way to stock mufflers, was gonna take a ton of pics,, but had to get this CV boot kit orderd.... so it looks like WED the 19th. my Eibach drop, and exhaust will be on here.....
