Your right it only came on the 37 (vq37vhr). Our engines, the 35 are vq35hr.
I must say I thought of making a manifold for the care on my own, but its already made very well and with all the problems I am having with the car, I thinking twice about keeping it. Although I really loved the manifold made by nismo for their competition 380z. To be honest, that engine is all I want!!! lol

me too. the 380RS has a lot of nice parts that i'm sure would fit the HR, since the 3.8 is nothing more than a modified HR with larger displacement. didn't Nissan take design cues from the VQ38 for the VR38 in the GTR?

the new HR, VHR and even VR38 from the GTR are based on the 3.8L in the 380RS Fairlady Z. There was only 300 made and it was built by Nismo. The first version, 380RS-C is a competition track car that makes 395bhp, without any form of forced induction. the second version is a street car that makes 350bhp.

http://www.egmcartech.com/2007/07/04...rs-with-350hp/

There was another dedicated site with detailed info on the engine and the differences and similarities between the VQ35DE, VQ35HR, VQ38HR, VQ37VHR and VR38DE

I cant find the pics, but If I remember right, the plenum was different (carbon fiber I think). The cams I think are more aggressive, and some other changes.

EDIT: http://www.nismo.co.jp/380RS/engine.html
http://www.nismo.co.jp/380RS/comparison.html

the regular 380RS has:
Forged pistons, crank and rods
Race cams/springs/etc
Larger displacement

the 380RS-C with the competition engine also adds a larger 2-peice CF plenum, long tube style race headers and a bunch of other stuff. Looks like the AC compressor is also removed (can anyone tell by the pics?)

Now if only Nismo released some of these parts for the HR and VHR...

Yes the ac condensor is removed since this engine was used for the track and not the actual street car. The larger displacement is created by the different internals; crank, cams, valve springs, pistons etc. basicaly all that u see in the picture with the components picture. On the exterior of the competition engine power adders are long headers (without cats not for the street) CF intake manifold. All in all this engine is amazing because it makes 400hp and 400tq from a 3.8 HR engine!! This is more than a 100hp per liter!!!

Cant we buy the headers/plenum/internals/etc from Nismo? I mean if you crack the header somehow there's got to be a replacement..?
