i agree here, people dont read instructions from get-go or overoil it then blame the product. i've also used k&n for close to 10 years and never had issue with maf getting greasy like how some complain.

i always let the oil dry, not too much and about a week or two after i install, i give the maf a quick spray just incase. its been my practice for a LONG time as i said.

I know this is an old thread, but do I need one or two of these filters for my 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe 5AT? I was under the impression that it only had one intake, therefore only needing one filter. I think the G37 is when it switched to two intakes.

For 2006, all the engines are still the DE, so you have a single intake. You only need one air filter.
Starting in 2007 with the sedan, they moved to the HR which has dual intakes, same for the VHR in 08+ cars.

I actually let my K&Ns dry out in the sun for a couple hours before installation straight from the box as they did seem quite oily from factory. MAF sensors are spotless after 60K miles.
