Clutch, VDC ........

recently bought a used G35s sedan, 6mt.
2008, 38K and in pretty damn good condition.

In normal driving, clutch seems fine.
I posted before about when idling in neutral after warm up, there is alot of chatter / vibration from the clutch/flywheel and I was told it was normal.

Are these stock clutches 'soft' normally ?

I did two 'sporty' launches today.
One at around 3K and quick slip. Little tire chirp and off quickly.
Another one around 3,600 and more of a Dump.
Lots of tire spin and loosey goosey in the rear end, which what I was trying for.

The stench from the clutch from two very moderate launches was nuts.
Also, after the 2nd launch it seems as if the clutch was slipping a little on its own afterwards.

do most swap out clutch/flywheels ?
Are the stock ones pretty bullet proof and maybe the previous owner 'rode' this clutch really hard ?

Also, is there a way to disable VDC 100% ?
Like in my many BMWs, you held the TC switch for 5 seconds and it was OFF OFF.....
When you hit VDC off, it's not 100% off.
Any ideas ?

Thanks all.

Kurt

Pressing the VDC OFF once will shut the traction control completely off, however stability control remains on. You can't shut off stability control unless you take out the center console and unplug the Bosch module located in there. This will disable stability control. I think there is a pic of this posted over on MyG37.com

I remember awhile back reading about a guy who wired in a switch to completely disable it.
