Transfer Case Dripping

Had my fluid changed a few months ago, when I tried myself, I noticed the case looked a bit wet. When they changed it, they didn't mention anything and I never saw any leak. Not it seems to be leaking a bit (as in 1-2 drips/night).

Any thoughts? I have a dealer appointment next week.

is it leaking while you're out during the day? have you looked in your parking spots at work?

if the case was wet to begin with then you may actually have a small, active leak. i would try cleaning the case off then you'll know for sure. also check that the fill bolt is properly tightened.

It is leaking during the day. The first time I went under the car, the drain plug was tight as can be. It leaks about 1-2 drips per night it seems.

sorry i havent caught up on this. if you're dripping 1-2 drips per night then it's likely dripping more during the day while you're driving. sounds like something related to thermal expansion (case is cold at night, hence tight and no drips other than residual 1-2 drops). i would check your fluid level because you're definitely losing more than just that.

of course the only way to know for sure is to slip a piece of cardboard under your car when you get to work or where ever and see if its leaking during the day. if you're under warranty maybe just let them chase it down.

you could also see if you can put UV dye in your transfer case and clean it well then check the next day with a light where it's coming from if you want to fix it yourself.
