3 inch isn't mainly for FI. 3 inch on a G will give gains, but most likely loose bottom end and gain on top end.

2.5 will gain low to mid range.

thats my take on it.

since you got hot hands to buy something. Get the rear Sport oem sway bar. It fits your X and its larger than your X oem size.

This thread is really confusing lol. The stock y-pipe is an HR Y-pipe same as the HR Z (not identical but almost). It's also the same as the VHR Y-pipe.

2.5" to 3" is not too big. The stock piping is 2.25" but where the two pipes join at the y-pipe it obviously gets bigger. So you're not actually joining a 3" pipe with a 2.25".

You're not gonna lose power going with an aftermarket Y-pipe but you're also not gonna gain much. It will also probably increase rasp. If you want power go with test pipes. Best $200 you'll spend on the car for more power but if you hate rasp you'll have to get HFC's.

From: Waltham Ma,
I do know the biggest gains will be with HFC's, But I will NEVER again install these on a AUTO. I had some serious issues 2 different times. I have a huge thread on here " Serious Hesitation" Where the dealer had my 08 G35X-S for like 5 months. They could not figure out what the issue was. Replaced 5 different things from ECU to Valve body on the tranny-- Removed the HFC's and problem was gone??? SO HFC's or test pipes are out, Just looking for some sound and HP.. Thing that really SUX is no body makes an FN Cat back.. Oh sorry some do but for $1200.. :/,

I agree it is confusing, cause I didn't identify which HR ypipe.

VHR ypipe is smaller diameter than the ZHR ypipe
ZHR ypipe I still feel is the best ypipe.

if you want some extra power. Try out the Hypertech Programmer. And throw on an intake for sound.

Lights out, Thanx MAN!! BTW The HT Blew up my ECU and IPO on my car, Had to have the car towed to the dealer for warrenty work.. The Intakes I will be looking at, R2C. Ihad them before and loved them.. Also the confusing Y pipe thing. So IF I get a Newer200-2010 370Z Y-pipe I shold be ok. Not sure what the ZHR is. Sorry

07-08 350z Hr ypipe is different than of a 370z ypipe.

370z ypipe is the same as a 07-11 g35/g37 sedan ypipe

sux to hear about that HT... did you play around with adjusting the revs?

I got takeda intake. I got it mainly for looks and dry flow. Maf sensors are hidden under the pipe, rather on top.

I got to do nothing with it, Yes I had the lastest flash and updated the the tuner.. Not sure what happened. I returned it and got a refund.
