30k Service Schedule

Hey guys, I have a 07 G35x sedan which just hit 30k miles this past weekend. I called the dealer to ask them about pricing and they quoted me $450 for the service, however, this didn't include any fluid replacement with the exception of the engine oil. So basically this service is a $450 oil change with visible inspections/adjustments of belts and miscellanous bolts, heatshields, etc. Not worth it in my opinion.

With the age of my car and it's mileage, should I look for a independent mechanic to do the following:

-Replace automatic transmission fluid
-Replace differential oil
-Replace engine coolant/flush system
-Replace transfer case oil
-Replace brake fluid

Your input is appreciated.

Thanks,
Erik

I have all my services done by either a certified Nissan mechanic or atleast one that is reputable and knows his stuff.
I never bother with going to the stealership for anything that is not covered under the warranty.
Parts and labor is where they make all they're money.
That's why they charge so much for labor.

Erik, is there any chance you could do these yourself? None of what you've listed is difficult at all. Repair manuals are available for free, and there are DIY tutorials for them all over the place. If you don't have the tools, you can afford to buy them for less than the cost of the job and then you'll have them forever to take care of it next time or if anything comes up. Just a thought.

Go to a Nissan Dealership... I had mine done for less than $350 with all the fluids. It will require the more expensive synthetic type.

Thanks for the responses folks...My mechanic quoted me $230 for all listed services. (see the attachment)

I think this is a fair price considering the quote that the dealership gave me, and let me remind you that the $450 price was just to replace the engine oil and inspections, it did not include changing any of the drive-line fluids.

Yea, these guys are good and honest and work on all imports. I go to them for all non-warranty related repairs and maintenance on my vehicles. They're located in Randolph, MA.

I've been looking for a shop like that around my area forever, i'm just always so paranoid of some mechanics I usually never have luck, they always try to scam or if they mess it up, they charge me to fix it ...
Only decent person i found in an hour away, and i don't think those prices compare at all lol
