Since they're rated at slightly different HP, my question is how did they do it? was it simply timing changes? Or are the engines different? Are parts interchangeable? etc.

also with the X vs RWD, I understand how an exhaust system for a RWD will not work with an X without modification. But are there engine differences that make parts not interchangeable between the x and rwd?

Uhmm, where did you see that?

(To be clear, that's incorrect info; they're all the same.)

thanks for the info! ps, My name is Chris, I'm a new B here. Ive been pretty active in the Grand prix W body community for a long time 8 years or so, took 96 grand prix into the 12s, and a numerous 97+ grand prixs into the 10s, and helped take 1 into the 8s! not bad for RWD drag racing eh?

anyway about to purchase a 08 G35xs as soon as I find the right combination of packages and colors I want. Starting to make my plans. This will be a DD but I'll want to do some basic stuff til the mod bug bites again and then who knows.

hey, while we're on the subject, whos got the fastest G35?

To awsner your question about the the exhaust not fitting the X, in order to have a AWD car, you need a transfer case to transfer the power to the front, you probably know this already. However, the transfer case sits right underneath the passenger side near the cats, now the regular G35 sedans Y pipe is bent differently because it doesn't need to make room for the transfer case. However with the X version, the pipes need to be bent in order to make room for the transfer case. I have a Stillen CBE, and its amazing, I have also hear FI exhausts too and they are also extremely good, both fit on the AWD X's
