^^ditto

in older and higher mileage motors synthetic can leak past worn seals and rings. And if you have a older or higher mileage motor that you have always used conventional oil in and switch to synthetic, the synthetic oil can actually wash out any conventional oil buildup that may have been stopping leaks. This us usually why a lot of people say synthetic causes leaks and burns more.

My service advisor told me the same thing like 6 months ago, and claimed that it affects the valves. I told her I had a 04 G35 for 4 1/2 yes and have been using synthetic from about 8k miles. Then she claimed the older models were different so IDK. I posted here about it if ya want to look it up.

Funny thing is, after all that I only took 5qts in and the car uses 5.?, they will not put put less that the specified amount (liability) so she offered to sell me 6 qts that they had in stock for $42, which I did, it was mobil1, and I took castrol there. So if they don't recommend it why are they selling it? Total BS IMO
