muffler delete

After seeing a couple of videos I think I'm going to do a muffler delete with stock exhaust tips. From what I've heard it doesn't drone on highways and according to all the video I saw the noise is perfect according to the owners. Anyone know any down side to this? cause every review seems to be positive. And also for those that have done it in canada, how much is it? I heard down in the states its around 50-100

^I'm not sure I'm understanding the concept correctly.... if you take off the muffler won't there be a cut off from the pipes leaving a empty space btwn the y-pipe and the tips?
Edit: ahhh lol i see from the video.. by doing that you're removing everything past the muffler and tips.

It unbolts after the Axle with 2 clamps. the mufflers can then be slid off thier hangers. the other piping is supported by hangers, so no stress is put on the exhaust. i drove around like this for weeks before i got my exhaust.

I personally think the sound is terrible. It SOUNDS like a vehicle without mufflers. Choppy, not clean, like most aftermarket systems. But if noise is all you're looking for, and you like the sound, go for it. Not sure about the legality of it in the state you're in, but some places removing a muffler would not be ok.

the tips are welded to the muffler. it comes off as an entire assembly. see below. there is a clamp that holds the piping to the rest of the exhaust.

ive removed the mufflers before it actuallly sounds good! definently not going to give u as clean as a sound as an actual system but for what u spend its definently worth it! i dont think u would regret it

I wonder if that high pitched "tweety" sound is a digital artifact of the recording process or if it's really there. Sounds a lot like a stock 1967 VW bug. If that tweet wasn't there, it would be perfect.

still debating due to droning. But people I've asked all said it doesn't drone that much.

The P.O. of my G35 did the same thing. When I test drove it at the dealer, that sound won me over a bit. When I took it in for servicing, the mechanics thought it sounded sweet. The only drone inside the cabin is when the car is cold. Other than that, it's all good.
