09 Tranny in 2nd Gen G??
I can't find anything on it.
From pictures the trans looks somewhat the same.. just curious if anybody has done it to help lower the rpm's on the 5 speed auto cars??

I assume you mean the 7AT tranny to replace the 5AT, right?
Anyway, regardless of whether it is possible to do or not, I can't see it be cost effective. The expense of the 7AT, plus the accompanying tranny ecu, plus possibly the main ecu, driveshaft??, plus potential wiring tweaks, and let's not forget the labor to do non-standard work, could never ever be as inexpensive as a few extra gallons of gas per year. Even if you got a 3 mpg improvement (which is being really generous), and say that amounted to a 15% improvement, and say you drove the average 15K miles/year, you'd be saving maybe 100 gallons at say 4 bucks each . . . so $400 times how ever many years you'd keep the car (be realistic here) and then compare that amount to what it would cost to do the job. And remember, that's a very optimistic case. My guess is that paying for the gas is WAAAAY cheaper in the long run.

EDIT: Heck I just noticed that you're talking about an AWD model too, so even more ++$$$ for that.

Or that it's very likely it'll cost you just as much to trade your car in for an '09 or any other model year that has the 7AT. If you go for the Sport, it even has a much better steering ratio than the '07s.
Basically, easier path for the same $, if not less.

Well considering the actual physical work, custom work on cars is no biggie for me.. the only thing that would be the deal breaker would be Tranny ECM working or not. I bet the trans swapout from photos I have seen..
I just figured someone might have done it or atleast tried... =/
