What is the mid-pipe intlet size for a 2007 G35x?

I tried digging around a bit but couldn't find the specs?

Anyways, I recently installed Berk HFC's and have read that the notorious rasp/rattle is caused by the 2.5" outlet being fed to a 2.25" inlet on the stock Y-Pipe. I found a Megan Y-Pipe with 2.5" inlet but the outlet is 3" to the mid-pipe...

Would a 3" outlet be too much for the stock mid-pipe and mufflers to handle nicely? Would there be any strange repercussions to doing this? I wish the funds were available to do the whole catback but that is not an option at the moment. Any insight is appreciated!
