List of Problems after 4 months, 9000 miles

-shifts delayed in D (shifts like its in DS)
-a noise (grinding?) at low RPM after turns
-my leak problem
-my cruise control problem from the leak
-brakes don't always "feel" same; sometimes more pressure needed on pedal
-one-touch windows don't always respond to one-touch
-the passenger air bag light problem

That's my list for the dealership today. Can't wait to see what they say.

are they rattles coming from inside the door panel or just rattles from the plastic flexing?

Damn, you are making me leary of going through with my purchase when my car arrives. I sure hope these cars aren't typical for having problems.

None of those issues here... car actually seems to be feeling smoother and more responsive.

Same here. I haven't had a single issue yet. My only complaint about the car is the grille, but I'm confident that will be taken care of.

I wouldn't let any of these things deter you from buying a G. You have to keep in mind people are going to post things that they find wrong with a car. If you go to any other car dedicated forum for any other brand you will find the same exact thing. 90% of the people here have had no issues with their G what so ever.

The 07 G is an AWESOME car!!!!

I'm just letting others know what I'm dealing with. I love my G and wouldn't trade it for anything. Go get yours!

>11k here and I haven't experienced any of the listed issues

Maybe the only negative I could say is the accelerator is tough to finesse from a stop

easy to give too much go juice and lurch away

I probably wouldn't notice a rattle unless it sounded like a tin can in a dryer

Agree, I would not trade my G, I love it. Its like a little lovers quarrel- sometimes I say things b/c I am upset at the moment, that is all.

I am noticing 2 rattles that are bothering me, 1 is in the dash, so I will probably never find it. The 2nd one seems to be coming from the passenger side pillar area. Its pretty loud too. I can drown it out when I am by myself, but with the GF in the car and stereo turned down, its kinda bad.

oh yeah, and the stupid grill sucks. I am still hopeful Infiniti is going to eat that one though...

Check the access panel under the dash behind the glovebox. Tap upward along the front and you'll probably hear it. It's easy to pull off, just easily released tabs. Put some weatherstripping on the metal where the tabs go in making sure to put it on the side of the slot that corresponds with the molded-in stops at each tab, not on the same side for all BTW. This, other than stuff in the glovebox, should stop the dash rattle. You might also have to wedge something into one or both of the rear hook catches to tighten up the panel so it can't move.

The passenger B pillar is deceiving, had the same problem or so I thought. There's a rattle caused by the pivoted covers on the rear deck childseat anchors that'll reflect and sound like this because there're two on the driver's side with line-of-sight to the B pillar. Roll up some foam cut wide enough to be a close fit to the inside of the anchor housing and force it back behind the hinge pin. It's kinda tricky but if done right, with enough foam to expand when released, it'll force the pivoted cover closed and preload the hinge pin which will still allow for a rattle otherwise.

It might help to add some padding of some kind on the forward edge but I'm not sure about that. I used some velour dots before hitting on the hinge pin problem and coming up with the foam idea. Every other rattle has turned out to be something in the glovebox or console. Empty the car and doublecheck.

Wow- I will have to set aside some time this weekend. I am hanging out at my old house which is on the market for a few hours Sunday for an open house, maybe I will try and work on it some then... I don't foresee it being constant traffic in and out. Thanks for the information!
