The switch lays above the "key sensing" thing, where you stick your key in. I leave it on most of the time since it is really nice during the day. Here are some pictures for you guys to enjoy. If you are in the L.A area and want to get it done. Here is my shop.

ask for Peter and tell them Ray told you to come by. =)

pictures suck cause i took them on my phone, cant find digital camera.

Very nice, I'm interested in doing the same thing. Since I'm on the East Coast, any chance that you can provide detailed instructions on how this is done?

Actually I think there isnt a need to do a seperate switch, in the Mazda as with this car where the fogs can only be turned on when the lights are on, there was a way to do some wire to make the fogs independent, therefore was called the independent fog mod. Allowed the fogs to be controlled whenever via the stalk....and it goes off on its own when the car ignition is turned off. I am pretty sure it should be able to be done on this car as well. Its related to the wiring at the stalk as well as in the underhood fuse box, dont know if this car has one.. if not then whereever the fusebox is.

Heres a probably even more Mazda specific one that does it via the in car fusebox.

Wondering if any really tech n wire friendly people read this thread and can work out a version for our cars, it would really help if we have a DIY guide for Independent Fogs as well as DRLs for those of US from Canada who purchase US cars.

Cool write up! Hopefully someone here with good Electrical skills can find a smiliar fix for the G! But I sure do hate cutting up any wires in a car that has so many Electrical things! Anything goes wrong can trigger HELL from the Dealer and your Pocket if it's not an easy fix, if anything went wrong. But I am hoping there a guy out there that can make this happen safely somehow. If Not may just buy a HID Kit with an Independent switch.

If you want to make use of the existing for switch, check out http://www.kptechnologies.com/.

If you want to the typical cdn DRL route, it can be done with a $10 relay or two... check out this thread http://www.myg37.com/forums/showthre...=175408&page=4
