Stock headlights power and how to change them ?

i just had a few concerns with the looks of the headlight power.

1.) what are the headlight power measured in and what would be the stock headlight power be ?
2.) are the stock headlights white ? yellowish-white ?
3.) to what power would they have be changed to an ultra bright white/blue.
(and would that be considered illegal =x)

all comments or opinions are welcome. thankss

Don't have an answer to any of your questions, but I LOVE my projectors. They provide plenty of illumination and are tenfold better than my 04' coupe's reflectors.

I'm not sure what you mean by "power"
But if you want to give it more lumens to make it brighter and see further then you need to increase wattage. Stock is 35W. You can change the bulb and ballast to 50W or 55W which will give you 30%-40% more lunens/light.
I bought my 55W here and it is blinding people. Too much light!

If you talk about color of the HID then our stock is 4100K. Go with 5000K to get true white with a hint of blue.
Please notice that you see best with 4100K-4300K. If you want to go higher Keven temperature for cosmestics, then you may consider increase wattage.

I change my bulb to 6000K and it's a lot better now (brighter and look sexier). So 55W with 6000K bulb is good for me.

What are the bulbs we use and how much did you pay for the kit?
How long did the install take? It would be great if you had pictures.

You can get the kit online using the link above for $149. I couldn't wait so visit the store and ask for matching price. The store offered me $160 (they sell at $199).

I have the shop installed for $80 and took less than 1 hour. He said he used his wiring harness and leave stock harness alone. This makes it easier to swap it back. I save the stock bulb and ballast just in case I sell the car later.

Hung, What type of bulb do we use? D2s or D2r? Did you order the plug and play harness or complete harness with relay?

It's D2S. I didn't order the harness and I don't know much about wiring. The store do all the stuff. But with the amount of time for installation, it should be quite simple.

You'd better not look at any 55W 6000K in real life. If you do, you will immediately upgrade it. My bro upgraded his mazda3 from stock 35W HID to this same kit and a few days later I got my installed.

I don't think anybody do it with high beam. You don't want your HID on and off in a second or so.

It's extremely bright and this will give you the opportunity to go with higher temperature (5000K or 6000K) without loosing too much light intensity. The installer let me look at the car in a dim room when he just put in one HID and I can see that the stock is yellow next to 55W 6000K. Before I just feel stock is not bright enough for me but still white to accept.
I don't think it will blind incoming traffic if we don't mess with the original aiming.

apexcone 6000K 35W D2S is about $100. Phillip is about $160. This is why I upgrade the kit instead of just replace the bulb. If you just replace the bulb then it is quite simple. Do you have service manual for 07 G35? I don't remember where I downloaded it. Either here or freshalloy or g35onwer. You can ask around. I got it for when I disassemble HU to do the bypass.
Download it first since it has more information that you may need later. Best tool you should have for DIY. If you read and see it's involved too much, then seek help from pro. shop.
