odd problem after fuse replacement

Ok so check this one out.

I get in the car and the screen doesn't come on and ac controls don't work. I recognize that as a blown fuse from a previous thread.

I replace the fuse with the 15a spare and start the car and everything seems fine. Screen works, ac controls, everything.

But...

I have this new "key" icon on the tach. Not the key-in-the-car icon on the speedo, it's on the tach itself. Never seen it before. Turn the car on/off, use the key port, lock unlock and the thing is still there.

Now when I turn the car on, I have the awd and slip light on, vdc off, abs and e-brake lights are on solid.

I've tried the battery unplug business and all that did is kill my radio presets.

Ideas?

Oh nice. Just found out the speedometer doesn't work at all.

Must be another fuse somewhere.

Sounds like you're starting to have a chain of problems electrically. Doesn't sound too serious but just to be safe, and since you're still under warranty, why not just get it inspected at the dealership? just a thought..

Yeah I went out there yesterday and they looked at it for an hour and decided it was some kind of faulty "circuit board".

Waiting for the part, and I'm supposed to hook up with Da Mayor today to get a loaner.

I wouldn't be surprised about an electrical issue, given that I have so much **** in the car, but the weird part is that this just happened out of the blue. The car was fine Sunday morning and then started acting up Sunday afternoon. And the diagnostics show that everything is ok, so that kind of rules out a faulty/broken wire, etc.

But we'll see.

Yeah Kenny is the man... he met me out there with a loaner and that way my car will be in service first thing in the morning.

We'll see...

I'm curious what the problem could be with your car because I have had instances where my screen/audio/hvac will not turn on with the car. I've always just power cycled the car a few times and everything will eventually come back to life. It hasn't happened in quite a while, but I wonder if it's the same issue you have.

The screen/audio/hvac issue was a fuse. I remember someone here had the problem and I looked and sure enough a 15A fuse under the hood was blown.

In your case I'm not sure, but you might wanna have it checked out if it's intermittent.

The other issues... speedo out, vss not working, etc are unrelated. I checked all the fuses and couldn't find anything, and the Infiniti service guys couldn't find anything so they're swapping out the brain. I don't think that's it, but we'll see. I should know by tonight.
