Question Key slot question?

I was watching a video review on some website and it showed the guy sticking the FOB in the mechanical key slot just as a holder.

Does anyone else do this?

Is this safe?

Besides using the mechanical key, was this slot designed to hold the FOB also?

Sometimes, I'll wear shorts with no pockets and I put the FOB in the cupholder.

I dont think there is a place to insert the metal key, but that slot to the bottom left of the steering wheel is meant to hold the fob. I use it all the time because the fob sometimes falls out of my pocket.

You're right.
It is meant to hold the FOB and start the engine if the FOB battery dies.
I just read it in the manual.

There is so much literature that comes with this vehicle.....its making my head spin.
