Oil analysis after installing CAI

Has anyone done an oil analysis after installing one of the available short ram air filter systems?

There's a lot of debate on how affective these filters are at keeping dirt out of the engine.
bobistheoilguy.com is one source.

I love the Fujita for it's looks and the sound.
I know there is little gain in HP, but I want one, but not if the price is a shorter lifespan on the motor.

Thoughts?

Wouldn't most if not all passing dirt just get blown out the rear? Just a thought. Either way, more dirt is certainly not a good thing.

Your cylinder walls are coated with oil and when the dirt comes into contact with this oil it contaminates it and causes the oil circulating throughout the entire engine to be unclean. It doesn't just 'blow through'

Exactly.

An oil analysis can be done for like $20-

I'm stunned that so many have gone through with installing up to $400- worth of intake, and not done a lousy $20 analysis yet.

There are some pretty bright G owners here... someone has done this, I'm sure.
If not, please do, to inform the rest of us!!!

Do I have to mail a $20 to someone to get it done? LOL

your oil filter will take car of it. I doubt you will find a lot of dirt in your oil. unless you drive on a unpaved road with a lot of road dust and you are speeding reving around 3-5k RPM.
