How do dealers react to test pipes or high flow cats?

How do dealerships tend to react to test pipes or high flow cats?

I know state laws about modifications to the emissions system can vary, but what is the typical dealer response to modifications of this sort? (assuming nothing wrong w/ the car, just typical service where they are observed)

Some freak, some don't. Some will want to void your warranty.

Running test pipes CAN void your warranty for emissions.

The big thing is, you don't want to get reported as a PITA in Infiniti's computer data base. Then your screwed EVERYWHERE.

If you have an 07' don't mess with your warranty.

Depends on the dealer and what you're bringing the car for...

If your bulbs keep burning out or something they don't really care. But if you keep throwing codes or your car stalls, that's another story.

Then again, I've found that as long as you sit down with them ahead of time and you're straight up about what you've had done, they usually don't freak out.

Best bet would be to call them on the phone ahead of time... just talk to the service guy and tell them you have a couple of aftermarket things in the car. They're usually pretty cool about it as long as you're straight up and don't try to hide anything.

Yea... I like the gains I see from test pipes, and if I have the stock mufflers back on I doubt it will be too loud.

I just don't want to get hassled.... might not be worth the 10whp+

It depends on where you are...

I took my car to Massapequa here in NY and Devan in Fairfield and both times I had no issues with them.

I talked to the service guys when I got there and told them I had "a few" aftermarket things on the car, went through the list with them and had no problems after that.
