TPMS Question

Can we by any means get the values of individual tire pressures? My car started showing the TPMS warning light and all the tires look good. Do I have only the option of buying a pressure monitor and checking all tires manually?

Mine does this, but it's after I have been running steady at over 60 for an hour or so.

Wait, are you asking if you can check the tire pressure yourself or are you asking if you can simply replace one of the TPMS?

Use a tire pressure gauge and check them. That is the only way you are going to know.

Thank you, I am disappointed that this car does not show actual tire pressures like most cars do.

My Pontiac monitors the pulses from the ABS sensors on each wheel and compares them. If they change (less air = smaller diameter), it shows low tire on the dash.

Doesn't bother me a bit but I guess I see what I DO get for the money I paid and I'm happy with that. To each their own I suppose.

The TPMS is a very generalized warning. Once it goes off you need to figure it out on your own, which one is the culprit.

The M35/M45 can do it. I wonder if it is all in software.

I will check later today, but I'm pretty sure my '08 shows each tire.

Optional
I remember reading a method by which you could determine which TPMS sensor was at fault for setting off the gauge warning lamp.

I swear its around here someone, I just can't find it with the search!

You CAN get the pressure for each individual tire if you have the proper equipment.

It's probably not worth investing in... no need to know the exact pressure unless you're a hardcore autox'er or racer.

Only problem is you have to manually check each tire to find the defective one. If we had a system showing tire pressures of all the tires, we would know which tire is having low pressure right away.
