flat black grille

im about to paint my grille flat black while leaving mt fuji chrome, any advise...

how do i remove mt fuji, does it just unclip once the grille is out?

Yep...just a pinch type clip. Pops right off.

thats what i saw that made me want to do mine. how much should i sand my down, just until the chrome finish is removed?

u must remove every inch and piece of it i went through it before wasnt fun heheh..

so after about an hour of work i finished painting my grille. i think it came out pretty well

went to lowes and got some 500 grit sand paper and used some krylon exterior ultra flat black paint..sanded all that nasty fake chrome off and gave it 8 coats. i think it looks awsome, lets just see how it holds up

no clear yet, i want to see how it holds up without it... i figure if it gets horrible i can remove it and redo it in under 20 minutes if need be. plus i really like the ultra flat black look.
