15k yearly maintenance

So here's the deal guys, I owned my G for a year now and I just recently got my change at 15k. When I was talkin to customer service, they insisted on doing the 15k yearly maintenance on my car. I asked how much it cost to do it and they said it is $391. My reaction in my own mind was "DAMN!" So I just told them that I'll do it next time I come in for an oil change. My question is for you G owners who pass the 15k mileage, did you guys do the yearly maintenance? is it worth doin it? should i do it or not do it? thanks ahead for you opinion

I didn't do it since all they do is top off low fluids and inspect stuff.
If you really want to, you can goto a Nissan dealership and they should give you a lower price.

I went into Nissan for the 30k mile service and I payed around 300-320, I don't remember the exact price. Beats paying 400-600 Infiniti charges since they follow the same procedures anyways.

I did my own for less

My dealer (Niello, Concord, CA) wanted $419 plus tax for the 15K service using synthetic. I decided to do it mostly myself. I bought 6 qt Mobil 1 synthetic engine oil at Costco for $26 total and a pair of Purolator One filters on Amazon.com for $7 (so $3.50 for 1). I went to Jiffy Lube where the labor charge was $33. They topped off the windshield washer fluid and checked all the other fluids which were OK and tested all the light bulbs (all fine). Then I went to Big O Tire and asked about new tires and brakes for my car. They jacked it up and inspected the brakes (fine) and tires (4/32 rear and 6/32 front) for free and gave me a quote for goodyear F1 a/s for when I am ready for the new tires, maybe in another 3-4K miles. I bought the air filters and in-cabin filter for $50.50 shipped from everythingg35.com and put them in myself following the DIY for the in-cabin filter that I found on this forum. So my total cost was $113 plus an hour to figure out how to do the in-cabin filter and some time to drive to Jiffy Lube and Big O Tires near my town. I would have spend an hour driving back forth from the dealer anyhow plus gas. It'll be only about 30 minutes next time for me to change the in-cabin filter. I also went to hand car wash for $23, so total is $136 if you normally let the dealer wash your car. It was 10x better wash than the dealer anyway.

I kept all the receipts and signed my own maintenance book.

I think that was worth saving $300.

People never learn about these jiffy lube etc type places until they encounter problems. I own my car outright so I prefer to stay away from places that will give my car a good one in the rear... LOL but hey to each his own, do whatever u r happy with.

I think Jiffy lube is fine as long as its just oil, I went to one and had them show me there docs on the vq35hr. Worked out fine, I was against Jiffy lube before I found a good one.

Looking over the 15K mile service items in the manual, I would just ask for an oil change and tire rotation since you have the X.

Go to the parts department, buy the engine air filters and do it yourself. The in-cabin microfilter and wiper blades is your call but something you can definitely do it yourself at 30K.

I personally think it a waste of your money to accept the service packages that these dealers offer. They're way overpriced for what you get, in my humble opinion. Good luck.
