Day to day H&R experiences
I want to hear some daily H&R stories... How many speed bumps do you get jarred by? Pot holes? Any impacts with parking curbs or other low parking blocks?
Any complaints in general?
They look slammed in all the pics I see, but I like the 'even' look vs. the eibachs.

Ill try and get a pic for you, but even though the Eibachs look uneven...after the car settles, they look amazing. In NYC, im constantly dodging potholes and such, its not fun, but our streets in Staten Island are the worst. The car still absorbs the bumps...but it gets annoying at times.
I own eibachs and here are the pros and cons as i see them.
The Eibachs might look a little uneven which they are but its gives you just enuff clearance on everything. I have only scrapped maybe once or twice and that was going in steep somewhere. There have been many times where i have said to myself that if my front was a little lower i wouldnt have made that. But there have also been plenty of times where i was tempted to buy the H&R set up.
So yes the Eibach's are a tad bit higher in the front then the H&R's but for reason (im not doubting the people at eibach in their craft).
Anyone with H&R wanna chime in if they have issues in the front scrapping places?
Im just saving up some $$$ to buy the TEIN kit when it comes out or the H&R coil over system

You have to learn how to drive a long wheelbase lowered car. Its a craft.
I have scraped some. everytime because i failed to approach the area appropriately.
Coming in and out of places with a big dip/rise in them. You have to bring your car in at the best angle you can.
think of it this way for bumps and rises, approach at an angle, get your front tire onto/into it first, then turn to the point of bing at a 45 degree angle while proceeding through the highest point. this gets two of your tires(diagonal from each other) to support the weight of the car and not let any part of it to get to low and catch the high/low points. keeps ground clearance at a maximum on approach in the front, and keeps ground clearance at a maximum in the middle of the car when diagonal.
when leaving an area or going through big dips, Approach it at an angle that is as close to perpendicular then slowly turn out of the area.
then just learn how to scan the road and look for obstacles.

yea, i had a VW GTI that was about a cellphone's width off the road... it got tedious to drive w/ the car that low, so I was wondering of the lowered G's had the same issues when running H&R springs.
I think I'll just have to see how the car sits on the G37 wheels before I look into a drop. The roads around me aren't bad, I just don't want do scrape up the front of the car if my mind wanders for a few minutes.

I've had a few lowered cars, and if your mind wanders for a few minutes I think you're bound to scrape no matter what. I have H&R, and I have of course scraped a few times here and there. Coming out of deep driveways, over some huge speedbumps, etc. But honestly I think those are situations that I would have scraped with Eibachs too. They are different, but not that much. Per Terrys' spreadsheet I think on average rears are the same, and fronts are about .2" lower?
I think you'll be good either way...but I'm glad I went with the H&Rs...

Hey Cali G! If you want to see how the G sits on G37 Rims lowered, Take a look at my G! I just put the G37 Rims on mine, https://g35driver.com/forums/media-share-v36-sedan/204930-my-g-her-new-shoes-part-2-a.html but I have the Eibach's. I think the H&R's drop the front a little more than Eibach's. And when I go out, I scrape the Front Bumper(the small Black Plastic strip on the Bottom) Very little, on steep driveways, even at an angle! We got some mean driveways here in some places. but other than that, I don't scrape at all. and I always go at an angle over speed bumps if they look pretty high. Most speedbumps I clear fine. Think If i had the H&R's. I would scrape the front a little more than with the Eibach's! but day to day driving it's a nice comfortable ride! But with the G37 19's, it's a little harsher. since there is less tire, and the tire is stiffer. but I love it. Hope this helps ya some!
Maybe I'll just go with the eibach kit... Do you eibach guys ever look at the front and think "man, i wish it was just a bit lower"?
I'd imagine that would help tire wear in the front if not running a camber kit as well...

its taking the good with the bad bro...get the eibachs and you have a clean drop with the front being a tad higher than the rear but that extra little height might get you out of common areas that you might scrape.
To be honest with you if i had a chance to go back and do it again knowing me id say F' it and buy the H&R's.

my old VW was always just a bit too high in the front and it drove me nuts, so i'm afraid i'd be bugged by it more than normal if it wasn't even.
I also don't want to drop it so low it dwarfs my 19's tho

H&R's are definitely lower than eibach, however I have scraped about 3 times on NYC roads and would've of scrape no matter what I was dropped on. But the ride is basically the same as stock to me just a little harsher cuz of the larger rims. Also driving with a drop you have to be aware of your surroundings and believe it or not there is a technique to driving with a drop and IvorypearlG explained it perfectly in post 4.
