Journey on Eibachs

I installed the Pro Kit lowering springs on my 2007 Journey sedan about 3 weeks ago. I've got 12k miles on the original 17s but will be upgrading to 19s once the originals are done. My question is, should I bother getting an alignment on the stock 17s (they need it, the rears are negative and toe is off on front)... But will I need another alignment when I upgrade the rims as well? If so, then I'll just leave it alone, but if not, I might as well do it and get some extra mileage out of the stock.

By the way.. No regrets on the springs. LOVE the ride. Got the Journey since I'm a "family" man now (coming from a sport BMW 3 series). Ugh, missed the handling.. Now I don't have buyers regret for the Journey anymore and that's while still riding on the 17s... Can't wait for the rim/tire upgrade.

Thanks...

You may as well do the alignment. The new wheels/tires will not alter the alignment settings.

I wonder how the Eibach ride compares to the OEM sport package setup?

I've had eibachs on some VWs in the past and did NOT like the ride at all. Performance was awesome, but the general commute to work on the freeway was bouncy bouncy bouncy. Gave me a headache.

The ride is not bouncy at all. I drive on the 91 freeway in southern CA to and from work with a carpool. No negative comments. No negative comments from my wife and senior parents as well.

If you do a search, you'll find that all the reviews are postive.

I'll add my two cents since I was worried as well. I never test drove the sport so I can't compare. But it is not bouncy at all. Same here, wife did not like the BMW sport ride.. too bouncy for her, especially pregnant. She hasn't even noticed I dropped the car. The car is much more commincative.. Before, I was disconnected from the road.

I have eibach on my acura legend and it feels almost like stock but a little stiffer so it might be the same for the G and you will also have a slight drop.

Good comments... I've avoided wheels/suspension as I've not liked those changes on other cars. Nothing worse than spending thousands of dollars and not liking driving your car. My Jetta and Passat did not ride that well and I ended up removing the Eibachs.

Nice to hear that it might be better on the G. Rethinking my position on wheels/lowering now. Thanks for the Post guys. Good info!
