Anyone do the NAV update yet?

So the NAV update has been out for a few weeks now. Has anyone done the update? Does it add anything to the interface for the 2007 owners? Do you notice anything new?

If dealers are like mine..or maybe it's geographical based, they may not have the CIII update kit. Mine didn't have it yet so I got put off.. I plan to have it done next oil change. Good luck.

Oh, to answer your question, I was told by Infiniti CA that it is a software only update for maps and locations..will not impact any interfaces.

Did my update this morning. There are no changes to the interface of the NAV unit. It's PURELY a map update. That said, in the all of 30 minutes I have had to spend in the car since the update, the maps are WAY better than they were in the 06-07 version maps. I'm not longer travelling on a mystery road on my way to work and it actually knows where my exit is. Huzzah!

Did u buy the update straight from teh dealer or from teh website. I think its BS that in 1 year they updated the program and we have to spill out another 200 buks for it. THats crap. My dealer is 20 miles away which would mean half a day to do a update

190 from Zenrin, 1 hour labor from the dealership. I was the first they'd done and it actually took them two hours but I showed them some information from the ITB on the subject and they cut it in half based on not having to load the maps on to their computer again, etc.

Definitely. POI improvements abound (ie, they have the right name, etc), a lot of the construction / highway changes in Austin and Dallas were now on the maps, etc. I haven't been to Northwest Austin yet to see if all the 620/183 tollway changes are in the map, but the ones East of town are.

It's still far from perfect and there was a road in Plano that has existed for ~5 years now that still wasn't on the map, but then there was another that was just completed 6-8 months ago that was... I guess no one reported the other road as missing. *shrug*
