question about steering

quick question, has anyone had a problem when your backing out of a driveway then turn the steering the other way and feel a slight little shift in the steering wheel almost like the steering wheel is loose.it will do it even when you start to drive forward and turn the steering from being parked.it only happens when the car has been parked for a little while.dealer said they wont warranty it because i have eibach springs on it.if anybody has the same issue let me know it would be much appreciated.

do you have the 4WAS system on your car, i have that and i *sometimes feel it change the steering ratio when im backing up, or when im going from 60+ to 40 on an off ramp on the highway.

if you don't have the 4WAS, then im not sure if it is normal or not.

i do know that when you are backing up, and u turn the wheel. the force of the road will turn the wheels out sharper, its the oposit of when ur driving forward and in a turn and let go of the wheel and the tires go straight again.

hope that helps

Do you mean slack in turning the wheel, or the steering column dropping down a bit. Haven't heard about the former, but the latter is a known problem. Mine does it when I reach the end of my driveway, the slope (and the weight of my hand) makes it click down.
