Hey guys, is there a bypass needed for any aftermarket alarm. I had to purchase one and have it installed because the tech. said it was needed, but for some reason i remember reading that it wasnt need. Can anyone confirm it is needed, because i think i just got ripped off

Bypass for what, a remote starter?
I'm too lazy to look up the 5701 to remind myself if the starter is included.
If so, an additional fob may be necessary for installation inside the dash, but that should be it.

I have the viper 5701 installed w/ auto start as well, and to have your auto start to work you need to buy "Dei 1101t Universal Proximity Key Bypass Module" ... hope that helps, other than that the oem alarm is still intact and can be used if needed.... klet me know if you need more info

Not a problem, just make sure it is 1101t if you get the DEI cause the older one that worked with 1st gen G's dont work on our cars no more... G/L
