Cleaning Stillen airfilters

Hey guys this past wekeend i decided to give under the hood a proper wash and clean. I noticed my air filters on my stillen dual intake were pretty caked up so i took them out and gave them a nice cleaning with some degreaser. I am not sure if that was a good or bad thing....can some one shed some light on this for me. I know the filters came with a notice saying not to clean the pre-lubed filters but i couldnt avoid it giving a full out wash.

Did i F ' up my filters? My car feels a little different.

You should have bought a K&N filter cleaner and oiler kit. Im not sure if your filters are ruined but if I were you, I would replace them. Im sure you did not reoil the filters so that means a lot of the micro contaminants are getting through....not good...

how exactly did you go about cleaning your filter? its a very easy process but you have to make sure to completely dry out the filter, then apply some oil (usually from the K&N cleaning kit) but you have to make sure not to oil it too much or else you'll screw the engine. Make sure to completely dry it after re-oiling, and then fit it back onto the car.
