What is the proper way to open the fob up without nicking the plastic?

I just changed the battery, not a big deal.

Actually, the key doesn't do any more work than my dodge key. My second infinity key battery was low as well. This second key was used maybe 10 times over the year. What's it doing to drain battery while sitting in the drawer???

Hold the I-Key in your hand. Using your other hand, place a DULL knife (butter knife or letter opener) along the long side at the seam. Wiggle it into the seam and it will pop open. I've never nicked or dinged the plastic housing.

Is your Dodge key a proximity key? I think the Infini keys has transmitter that is working all the time, that's why the second key also drain the battery.
I'm guessing here.

i haven't had to replace mine yet, had the car 1.5 years, and drive daily... But i did replace the CR2032 in my tahoe (lasted 8 years) So yea, basically all remotes are the same, usually has a slot on the side, insert flat screwdriver, turn and the plastic will separate. Also you don't have to buy your battery online, most stores will carry it b/c it's a very common battery. They had a whole bunch of them at CVS when i bought mine. 2 pack of energizer batteries for like 6 bucks...

Just changed mine a few weeks ago (lasted 11 months).

You guys think they just put a crap battery in there from factory.
Has anyone had their replacement battery go yet?

My car has had the battery low indicator come on twice in maybe the last 2 or 3 months. Then the next time i get in the car the indicator does not come on. Im just going to let the battery die then replace it. Ive had my car about 13 months now.
