Am considering buying the new Storm- any feedback on interfacing with the '07 G would be great vs iphone. I'll be using it mostly for www. pandora music and will use on wife's '99 Q45 and my '97 T100 pick up too

I tried getting on Friday, after waiting in line I learned that the guy in front of me got the last one in stock.

I ordered one online, it'll be here Tuesday. I'll post a thorough review once I get enough time with it and let you guys know how well it works with the Bluetooth in the G. I have an 8830 currently and have had no issues with the quality of calls in the G.

I got in Friday 11/21, According G35xS 08 (Bluetooth) and Storm: Speed dial work not as it should be. First is connect to G35 system, after transfer back to the Storm devise, only after pressing button phone (G-control panel) start to work true the Bluetooth. Battery should be charge twice or more per day.

Back to the OP. I've used the Storm in the car for a couple of times now and it works just fine. It worked just as well as my 8830.

It automatically connects to the car as soon as I turn it on and disconnects as soon as I turn the car off.

I know, but I never use speed dial on any of my phones.

That is weird that it doesn't work when connected to the G.

I've always just used voice commands.

Storm works great on the 35, not issues whatsoever.

Once you sync your phone to your car via bluetooth, make sure your car is set up to receive data. I don't remember the exact way to get there but its pretty straight forward if you play around with the menu a bit. It should be somewhere under the list of options that come up under "Phone" or maybe go into settings and hit "Bluetooth".

From the Storm, go to Options, and "Manage Connections". You'll have a list of "Paired Devices" and the G should be on that list. Select it, hit the menu button, and select "Transfer Contacts".

I got my new BlackBerry Storm last week and have used it in my 2008 G35 several times with no problems at all. Speed dial and everything works flawlessly. The only thing I had to do is override the prompt for me to approve everytime it tries to connect to the car... Now it connects automatically everytime I turn the car on. No issues whatsoever.

Good luck with your new Storm. It seems like a great phone so far. I'm still not fully liking the touchscreen, but I am getting more used to it. The only problem I have with it so far is that the touch screen doesn't click when I push any button near the top edge of the screen (or the left side of the screen if you turn it counter-clockwise in landscape mode).

Just an fyi, theres a software update available to those who are BES users where they've made a lot of improvements to the phone. Most notibly the time it takes for the screen to switch from portrait to landscape mode and vice versa. The phone also operates faster.

If you don't have BES then you'll have to dl a leaked version of it. I plan on doing that when I get home tonight. Verizon/RIM will eventually make it available to everyone. In fact, Blackberry is already working on yet another software update, BGR got a leaked version of it and said its leaps and bounds better than the software that came with the Storm and better than the version available to BES users. No official word when that will be available.

Anyway, if you want the leaked software update for those who aren't corporate users, go here and follow the instructions:
