Extra bass-Worth it?

I have an 07 g35 sedan, with the bose and all that, and i wanted to get a 10" sub in the back so i have that extra kick and still have trunk space.
My question is, is it worth it to have a sub in the back? (will a 10" make a difference?)
And will it void my warranty?
Does anyone have this kind of setup and what type of amp are they using?
Thanks for your time!

Idk about you but I have issues with the rattling that comes with the stock bass (I have the bose system also).

I had a similar stock audio system in my '05 FX35 and adding a single 10" JL 10w3 sub in the trunk made the system so much boomier and just overall better. They added better grounding wires, a 500/1 jl amp and the best types of connections. It did void my stereo warranty but it was well worth it. It was a great setup and JL's were great as well.

Will a similar setup work as nicely on the G? I don't know but all I know is adding subs will be the very last thing I do to this car - whereas it was the first mod I did on the FX.

I have the bose and as much as like the system overall, the low bass is not satisfying. I think it is worth it to add a sub. In the past, even something like the Infinity Basslink is easily satisfying. Running a power line from battery to the trunk takes some effort but is not difficult. You can tap the bass line-level coming out of the bose amp (if you have bose) to the powered bose sub (woofer?). In my mind, the smaller space in the front of the trunk is not very useable anyhow. The wider rear trunk is plenty for groceries, golf bag, etc. If satisfying bass is important to you, just do it!

The stock bose system really has no low end. I have 2 12's in the rear and i LOVE it. I am getting some rattling either from the decklid or from my spoiler.

It is worth it the your whole system sounds a lot better, with deeper bass. I used a fosgate p200.2 amp n kicker 8 inch sub in the rear deck, then i switched it to one 10. But i am currently redoing my setup again. I will post some pics up this weeknd. Sikh power

i recently put in a sub after driving my g around w/ the bose system..

i have a jl 12w6v2 powered by an alpine mrp850 in a custom ported box. i pulled the stock bose sub so i could get better venting from the trunk into the cabin (better sound and less rattling)... but for my listening habits.. this was overkill by far. my amp's gain is at 75%... and my bass control **** i installed is at 25-50% most of the time.. any more than 50% and my rearview mirror shakes pretty badly..

like others have mentioned, the box in the trunk takes up quite a bit of room if you go ported... depending how particular you are about sound.. you may consider a sealed box.. or even open air..

i have been considering taking my box out and selling it and going with one of the jl free air subs instead so i can get my trunk space since i travel every weekend..

i installed and later removed 2 10" Alpine type-r, too much rattle and just didnt sound nice with the bose system, i like it much better stock though would like some extra bass at times.

Plan on installing 1 10" type-r later after dynamatting the entire trunk at least!

thanks for all the responses everyone! i think the bose system is satisfying, but if i can get a good deal on a 10" sub and amp then ill get it installed. My only worry is that it is gna mess with the circuit and im only at 17k miles and i dont want the warranty to go to crap if the sub somehow messes with it.
does anyone know if acoustic makes good amps?
im looking at a used 10" kicker l5 with an acoustic 450 rms amp thats all set up for 250
good deal?

shouldn't mess with circuit if done properly.. i've only had mine for two months and so far no problems: no rattle unless the bass is really cranked up and the car is shaking, no dimming of headlights, no buzz/noise from sub

I think the Bose system is overall satisfying. It can't produce the really low bass of certain rap songs but thats not very worrisome. I don't want to deal with the inevitable rattles and sound like some ghetto hood rat driving up and down the street.

the bose is pretty good i have a basslink just because i took it off my old car... . .. i've found the rear deck to be quite annoying.. lots of rattles so i keep the bass low. but i think the bose system found in the coupe is far more superior than ours...

give the basslink a try... they're a bit overpriced though
