removing front license plate

Quick question,

Has anyone removed there front license plate? If so, how big are the holes drilled into it. I want to go with an aftermarket front lip but with the license plate still on the front I feel that it won’t have the full effect. Just wondering if im going to have to replace the front bumper because of the holes left by the screws

Thanks

Get bumper plugs, since you're BO you shouldn't have a problem finding some.

^ +1 bumper plugs if you can get away w/o a front plate.

the holes are roughly 3/8 - 1/2"
I just finished filling mine for my front plate label.
We can't get away w/o front plates, so this is my next best option.

A friend that runs a business doing advertising wraps on cars & trucks did it for me.
If there's someone in your area that does that type of work they should be able to do it for you.
You will need a hi-res pic of your plate for them to work with.

My local grocery store can print anything you want on top of a cake, in butter creme.
Have them make something up for you. It should hold up fine until it rains, or until the neighborhood dogs gather and lick it all off.

I took mine off, and didn't like the holes, but didn't want bumper plugs either, so i had a shop fill in the holes for me....

here's a pic to show you how it came it... can't really tell they were ever there:

The darker the color, the less noticeable the drilled holes are. Remove the plate and bracket, then remove the white nylon toggle nut as well. Once the white toggle nut is off, the hole will stil be there, but not very noticeable. If it still bugs you, get plugs or get them filled.

Toggle nuts on:

Toggle nuts off:

I happened to have the bumper cover off which make it a no brainer. It's easy to get them off without damaging them with the bumper cover on if you know how they work. I'll take a picture of them tonight. The nice thing about leaving the holes is easy re-installation for fix it tickets.
