Hello! Problem with the headlamps (cracks)

Old car is left, the new one is right

The problem is I've got it with some cracks in the headlamps, like previous owner thrown the hood too hard:

The right one:

The left one:

Sorry, pics are huge, but they show the problem fully.... :confused

Some people say that the cracks won't go deeper, other say that the water and fog would appear inside of them soon...

Maybe I can use some glue or some other way so they would stay where they are?

They should be fine if you don't slam the hood. They are not in an area that sees pressure other than from the wind if you hit the speed limiter all the time.

Looks like more of a result of freezing temps taking its toll on the plastic over time. I wouldnt worry unless water and excessive moisture is inside the housing. Otherwise they probably arent all the way through the plastic.

I can't see that......
No problems with any of the guys up here in Canada.

I wonder if someone tried to do a headlight mod.

I had the same problem, i think it could get worse than that.
I just had mine both replace last week. there were cracks like that all over my both headlights.
I dont know why but i think it is a manufacturing defect. i think it might be a overheating problem)
any body else has the same problem?

I had similar cracks, i think mine were slightly smaller, but i also had my lights replaced under warranty (also no freezing temps over here, It's been in the high 80's low 90's over here already)

Thanks for replying, glad I'm not the only one with such a problem. Replacing them would be too expensive for me now, but maybe someone will tell me the price of the both headlamps (I have all the packages, including AFS).

Thanks for this thread. I had a ton of cracks to my passenger side headlight. I thought maybe a rock hit it or something although there is no rock damage to the outside. I brought it to the dealer and they replaced the headlight under warranty.

^ No trouble at all? I got a schooling about how someone may have hit my car, etc... so obviously no warranty replacement.

No problem at all. If you look up "headlight crazing" it is a defect in the polycarbonate. The cracks were on the edges and the face on my headlight. The headlight on the other side looked normal but had some small cracks too but not worrisome. The only bad thing is that the dealer did not swap out my nokya yellow 9006 fogs nor the Philips ultinon bulbs. I did not want to go back for fear of them saying the aftermarket bulbs caused the damage!

Maybe call infiniti corporate and insist that you did not hit anything and the headlight lenses show crazing. I for one was worried that these cracks might develop into a leak.
