HID Fog Conversion kit and 6000K HID-D2S Question

Hello all,

After much searching through the forums - I have not found a complete answer so I wanted to see if anyone knows what is up. I am heading to Asia next week and figured I should pick up some 6000K HID-D2S bulbs and a 3000K HID conversion kit to replace my weak a$$ fogs.

1) Are there any brands people recommend for bulbs or HID conversion kits?

2) Has anyone had an issue with 3000K (or similar) conversion kits for their fogs such as heat (melting their headlight housing since 3000Ks are hotter... definitely don't want to do that ,) electrical issues, lack of resistor etc.

3) Also, does it really matter what the wattage of the ballast is for 3000K lights? I have heard 35w, 55w - can someone set it straight? I figure the kits will come with the proper gear, but I just want to be prepared.

4) Lastly, and I am pretty sure it should be fine. Will the OEM ballasts support 6000K bulbs?

Any help would be appreciated.

1. Phillips. Look for IvoryGTs thread about HID lights in the lighting forum. Very informative

http://myg37.com/forums/body-interio...bout-hids.html

2. Running stock fogs, so don't know.

3. Don't go over 35w for the ballast.

4. No probs.

I agree with E-Ticket Ride regarding looking at IvoryGTs thread. I bought my Philip's (with one "l") 3k's from him. Phillips are definately top knotch, as are McCullough's.

Check my thread also for my one off install: https://g35driver.com/forums/media-s...d-fog-kit.html.

Thanks guys - definitely giving me a good idea what to keep my eyes pealed for.

35W ballasts check, Philips bulbs check.

Anyone know acceptable HID conversion kits (or ballast companies)?
