There are many posts on how to do this exactly in the forum. I have run across a few of them but dont remember exactly where they are. I believe there is a DIY somewhere in here.

However, the short answer "I think" is that the door trims you have to remove the door panel the dash and shift trims are pop off.

I am going to bring my 07 sedan in to have all this paneling replaced. is there an official statement from Infiniti regarding this known issue? Just want to arm myself for when the dealership (maybe) tries to deny me replacing all of this under warranty.

Whew, I thought I was the only one having this issue, my black trim around the door and volume button looks like it was clawed white by a cat!

I will schedule an appointment ASAP! Thanks guys!

The dealership is actually giving us a hard time about this and saying it is not under warranty. Is the issue in the 07 models in writing anywhere?

Can you post a picture of what you are replacing and where it is damaged?

Not able to get to my car right now, but it is the paint rubbing off/chipping on all 4 door control bezels, as well as that same material on the steering wheel itself.

I had issue with my steering wheel getting it replaced under warranty because they said it looked like it was a intentional rubbing to wear it down. (piece of crap response if you ask me). My panels, they replaced as needed. They did not replace all of them however they did replace my driver side door trim because it was clearly chipping away unprovoked (naturally). That is the key I guess. if it has any scratches in it that look like you could have done it with your key or something along those lines they will probably not replace it under warranty.

If they keep giving you a hard time, go to another Infiniti dealership.

Yeah, they were trying to say it was rings and stuff like that. Problem is, I don't or never wear a ring, and all 4 door bezels are screwed. It is obviously a defect.

From: Boston
Fixed steering wheel

Hey all. I wanted to follow up and let you know that after a few times and being very persistent and going to the general manager of Infiniti of Boston, they agreed to replace my steering wheel completely under warranty because of the peeling I had on the material around the buttons. If you just keep at them and go to the management team, they will most likely help you out. I also had the trim piece on my drivers side door replaced under dealership good will (aka warranty).
