Unknown light next to front passenger dome light

Unknown light next to front passenger dome light
There is a small white light next to the front passenger dome light. It stays on the entire time the exterior lights are on. Does anyone know what it is and what its for?

It's just the ambient light. It lights up your center console when it's dark.
It isn't there for any particular reason, just to spice up the interior a bit.

^+1 the are pretty neat and useful, you will respect them more once you sit in a car without them and the interior seems all dark
