Don't worry about the whistle....that's normal and every aftermarket intake will do that on our cars. After awhile, you'll probably grow to like it. As far as cleaning the filter it depends on how much you drive and the conditions. When the element goes from Blue to grey is probably a good indication. That being said, the filter on my Fujita has 15000 miles and it still looks pretty good. I'll probably recharge it at the next oil change or maybe get a new Amsoil dry filter.

I also took a second look at my A/C lines and found out that the lower part of the heat shield closest to the bumper is extremely tight against my A/C line luckily I didn't drive far before noticing it. I'm letting my car cool down now then I'll have to figure something out

Glad you got it. If you have any other issues let me know. I have done almost everything on my car myself and helped with the motor swap.

Posted the last one before I read this. You can bend the A/C lines a bit if you need. I bent mine a lot when I moved them to put my filters behind my grille.

Its ok i figured it out i just mounted the heat shield a little further back, took me two mins but thanks for the input that probably would have been my next attempt that or filing the heat shield down a little in that area.. Next step will be to install the 1/2" motordyne iso thermal spacer. If you have any tips on installing it that would be greatly appreciated!

Man...You picked the one weekend I'm busy. I have to fly back to St. Louis on the 17th and help my parents drive a moving van w/ a car hauler, another car, and a motorcycle out here.

I think I might be going up there anyway whether we do a meet or not.

The only weekend in July that works for me is the 5-6th and the roads are goign to be packed.

What about the first weekend in August?

I went to the WestsideZ's meet last Friday where they are doing the big open show thing for all cars. Pretty cool little get together. I think it was Northern and the 101 on the west side. We should try to go there again some time.
