clicking or cracking noise when clutch engages

I'm hearing a click, click, click type noise in 1st gear around the time the clutch engages. It disappears as soon as the clutch is totally let out, and only in 1st gear. It's a 2004 G35C 6spd with 900 miles on it, although it has been happeneing from day one. Is this normal?
