Re: My 1st Car Accident

Yea, actually they are going to give me a rental car. So, I am going to get a rental car. They said that they have the Infiniti I30. So, we will see.

Re: My 1st Car Accident

Good luck on that rental.. when I was hit, the other person's insurance paid for a like-size car, but wouldn't spring for a luxury car.. so I would have been stuck with a Grand Am or something, but they were out and gave me a Mercury Grand Marquis. Woot! You just *think* the I35 is a boat until you get one of those -- and that big ol' V8 is surprisingly lacking in power in that car.

Make sure you find out what your daily rental allowance is from the other company before you take the luxury car and wind up paying for the difference out of pocket. And make sure they spring for a mid-sized.. they tried to put me in a Corolla at first, I think they got the G35 confused with a G20 for size.

Re: My 1st Car Accident

Glad to hear you're alright! The car is no a big deal. That's what insurance is for. Remember you can take the car to wherevas you want to get it fixed. Don't listen to the insurance companies. My suggestion is to insist to have the dealer do all the repairs since you know that they are using genuine nissan/infiniti parts. Take care of yourself.

Re: My 1st Car Accident

I already took my car to a place that I have taken my other cars too. They do a great job! I actually went to go see it yesterday and they got all of the parts from Japan. So, it should be done very soon !!! :-)

Re: My 1st Car Accident

sorry I didn't chime in earlier.... sorry to hear about your loss but good to hear you're OK. You should check out posts on freshalloy.com involving accidents. If I remmeber correctly, dfw_infiniti posted a thread about possibly suing the person at fault on top of insurance claims for a depreciation of value on your car (this helps minimize the loss of value on your car do to an accident if you decide to resale, trade-in, etc.) Again I'm not sure as it is an old thread but thought I'd share... I've been through an accident myself as a old man (in his 80's) backed into my right front fender as I was about to turn into a parking spot so I can understand where you're coming from (my car was a march pre-order and I was one of the first to get the coupe in November and two weeks later this happened). In any case, good luck wiht the repair work and hope everything works out for the best...
