Nov. 15 Bay Area Meet

We are planning to have a meet on Saturday November 15 at either Speedring or Malibu Grand Prix.

I think Speedring would be the safer bet because it is indoors and wouldn't be affected if it were raining where Malibu would not let us go out. So opinions would be appreciated.

If you guys could spread the word, I will send emails out to those that I have on the mailing list, but it would be great to have at least one last meet before the holiday season.

I like speed ring better than Malibu. You get to race side by side as opposed to Malibu's one at a time. Here is a link to speedring's sprint race pricing. If we get four our more then it is only $40.

Re: Nov. 15 Bay Area Meet

I have been to Malibu several times but have not raced at Speedring. I was planning to go this past weekend but when I heard that we might be doing this I postponed it until the meet. It would be a lot of fun to go head to head with other G/Z drivers!

woohoo Speedring. I'm in. There's also a speedring in Warm Spring area called LaMans kart. I think that's how it's spelled. It's owned by speedring. It seems to be less crowded and I like the track better.

Here is a link to it http://www.lemanskarting.com/ It looks like it would be cool. I have been to the place and checked out the track but have not raced there. It looks like the sprint race would be $38. I would be down for this place also

I would personally prefer Speedring. I can call to see if we can get any good deals. I am a friend with one of the co-investors so hopefully I can get a hookup for us.

I don't know how my friends did it, but one time we had 30minute race sessions for $40 a person.

That was be cool if you can get half hour sessions at speedring.

Re: Nov. 15 Bay Area Meet

All right, I have a sheet from SpeedRing telling the different prices. So here are the two options:

20 minute Mini Sprint Race - $30
30 minute Sprint Race - $50

So which one are most people up for?

Re: Nov. 15 Bay Area Meet

how does the 30 minutes break down? Is is a 5 minute qualifier then a 30 minute race? That might be a long time. These cars do take a lot out of you.

Re: Nov. 15 Bay Area Meet

The 30-minute races I've been in were like that. 5 minutes for qualifying laps, then 30-minute race. It's a lot of fun, but does wear you out. At the end I think the race turned out to be around 70 laps.

Try doing it with a long sleeve shirt and jeans under your jump suit on a hot summer day and the room temperature is about 98.

Re: Nov. 15 Bay Area Meet

All right guys, I called Speed Ring and it is $50 for a 30 min Sprint Race with 5min warmup and then 25-30 min race. We need to have a definitive head count to give them. We need to make reservations soon as they said it fills up. Also the sprint races are around 2PM on Saturday. Please email me at mrman_3k@msn.com to confirm you can come. My goal is to make reservations by the end of this coming weekend to the beginning of next week. Spread the word.

I have only one confirmed person coming. If anyone wants to come, please email me at mrman_3k@msn.com so I can let Speedring know.

I would like to come, my friend wants to come but she's been lazy to get her L's because she gets rides all the time. Do you need L's to drive at the speedring?
