Re: IN-N-OUT Hamburgers

In-N-Out makes a good burger. better than Micky D's or BK but if I had to choose between a Carl's Jr. Double western bacon cheesburger and an In-N-Out burger, You can bet that I'll be eating the Double western bacon cheesburger.

I am not impressed with Krispy Kreme donuts. Krispy Kremes are like fake *******. Ya their a donut but they taste fake as hell. Everytime I eat one I get a raging headache from sugar overload. I guess I have been spoiled by a local donut shop. Their plain glazed donuts are so fluffy and chewy that once you eat one of those, you would scoff at a Krispy Kreme.

Re: IN-N-OUT Hamburgers

A) Everybody should read "Fast Food Nation".

B) I agree, actually, about Krispy Kremes. I think they're a great traditional, cultural thing, etc. but if I had to choose between one of their glazed donuts and home-made one from a local bakery, I think I'd chose the local dive.

Re: IN-N-OUT Hamburgers

I don't know if I feel better eating at In-N-Out...I mean, yeah it's fresher, but it's still fast food...It is much cleaner than the other fast food places and that I DO appreciate

As far as the 20/20 specials go, yeah, a lot of fast food places are horrifyingly dirty...But so are a LOT of restaurants, including some 5-Star places...It's the nature of dealing with food service...If you really found out how many dangerous toxins and poisons and whatever else you're exposed to on a daily basis you'd live in a plastic bubble...Of course, the bubble would probably contain a contaminant and you'd get sick or die anyway...Enjoy your day, everyone!

I like Krispy Kreme, but only in moderation...I don't mind one or two a month...And I like ALL breasts, fake or real, big or small...To quote Jack Black in "Shallow Hal": "Well, I can squeeze 'em. That's real enough for me."

"All the Power in the World resides in the Eyes..."

The old saying, what you don't know won't hurt you and ignorance is bliss really ring true when it comes to restraunts. A family friend is a Health inspector. He can avail you to numerous interesting stories.

The problem you find with Micky D's is that the food is probably the worst of the fast food joints but they got the best damn happy meal toys. And if you have an 8 year old like mine, your going to be eatin a few meals at the Big D.

As far as the safest fast food. My vote would go to Taco Bell. I worked there when i was in High School. The stuff is made fresh to order. You never see a Taco sitting under a heat lamp for 20 minutes. I also worked at Denny's in High school. That place does some shady $hit. Even I won't eat there now.

Re: IN-N-OUT Hamburgers

I worked at a Pizza Hut. Ours was fairly clean, but the next one near us was horrid. Even at ours, I wasn't a fan of the quality of work put out by our main dishwasher. Luckily the rinse water had a sanitizing agent in it.

Then of course there was the sick b------ who would, if the order said "supreme, no green peppers" would hide a couple of peppers under some pepperoni slices on the off chance that the customer was allergic. The things minimum wage workers do to entertain themselves.

That's the other advantage of In-n-Out.. they pay a bit more than minimum wage, if I recall, and have workers who actually care about their job.

Actually, in high school, I worked at In-N-Out, and they do pay well compared to other fast food joints. They make you work hard, but I really respect the organization. Their beliefs in quality and cleanliness are actually put into practice. And they make the best "bugers" in the world.

Re: IN-N-OUT Hamburgers

It's funny how many Hawai'i people are responding to this thread, since we don't have one here. I too, like jayspr5, went to a couple of IN-N-OUTs, and didn't have very good experiences. But, I didn't know about the secret menu and "animal style" stuff. Thanks for pointing those things out guys. I think knowing what is good to order at any restaurant can make or break the experience. I will have to try again next time I'm on the "mainland". Aloha

Re: IN-N-OUT Hamburgers

And if you're on the Atkins or some other low-carb high-protein diet, you can order a burger from them "protein style" and they'll wrap your burger in lettuce instead of a bun.

I usually stick with animal style.. which I think adds grilled onions, pickles, and extra sauce.

It also adds grilled mustard on the patty. Good stuff.

Re: IN-N-OUT Hamburgers

Hey! I'm from Hawaii also.Although I haven't had the chance to
try a burger from INO, 2 thoughts kept going through my head
throughout this thread. The first is that the next time I go to
Vegas I need to try one or two, and second, I think if you guys
got a chance to try a burger from Kuaina (I think thats how you spell it) no contest. I always order the 1/3 lb med. rare
bacon avacado burger, awsome, and their fries are also made
fresh in that shoe string sort of style. They also opened a huge
one in Japan. You guys should see this place during lunch time. Anybody coming to Oahu, gota try one, you won't regret
it.
