Re: Coupes are Abundant in Row Hts

Haha! I am very familiar with the "red" envelopes myself. The place to be today was Hing Wa Lee Jewelers at Colima and Batson. The owner was handing out the envelopes to everyone that passed by! Too cool. A lot of my clients are Asian, and I know that they are celebrating the year of the "monkey." I'm not Asian myself, but I do have a true understanding of this holiday. Maybe somebody can help me on this one. I know "beer" in Mandarin sounds like "P Joe." I just don't know the spelling. I think that would make an interesting personal plate for the G. Just a thought. Anyway, Happy New Year, Everybody!

Mooser, "P Joe" is as close as you're going come to spelling Beer in Mandarin since you can't really "spell" Chinese words in English. I guess someone out there knows the pin-yin, but I never really liked pin-yin since the rules of pronunciation aren't always intuitive.

I would have spelled it Pee Joe--enunciation is correct, and you get a bonus word describing the beverage's color.

this would make an awesome personalized plates:

WOIPJOE

(translated to "I love beer") and i think it would pass dmv inspection too, b/c you could just tell them it means something else..

TYGWOFN, you are the king of cryptic license plates. I still don't know what your current plate means.

Thanks for the help you guys. But the plate? Great idea, but to those that don't know what that is, it would sound like you're letting everyone know that you're whizzing coffee all day long. Then everybody would think that I work at Starbucks! ( Woah!-I-Pee-Joe)

Since I know exactly where she lives, it wouldn't be wise to reveal her residence. I'm not at liberty to disclose that kind of info. But I will say this, you'll have a significant chance of crossing her path around the Taco Bell area of Rowland Hts.

Re: Coupes are Abundant in Row Hts

Bro, once again something has come up. I would just go to meet some of you guys. I'm 10 minutes from there. Here's the bad news. A VERY close friend of my wife passed away on Wednesday in Chandler, AZ. We are flying out in the morning for a 3pm funeral. Wife, mother of 2, and 45 years old. Sucks huh? I'll have to take a rain check, but thanks anyway.

TYGWOFN = tai-guo-feng

meaning ridiculous, or you would say this phrase, when there's something that you can't believe is happening.. for example, you wait an hour to be seated at a dim-sum restaurant, and you tell the manager, this is "tai-guo-feng-le"
