Re: Restaurants in Vegas?

Oh yeah I forgot something.

First off to answer a question, Emeril also has a new orleans style fish house in...ah man it escapes me what hotel. I ate there and it was merely ok, and compared to Delmonicos it SUCKED. If you can only pick 1 Emeril place to go to pick Delmonicos.

Ok dunno if you like sushi, but heres a really not fancy place. Go down Tropicana towards the airport side about 7 miles or so, you'll come to a cross street Topaz. Make a right on Topaz then make the first left into the shopping center. The place on the end has a simple "sushi" sign. Its called sushi on tropicana, and it is some of the best sushi I've eaten. They have an all you can eat lunch and dinner which is fairly priced. MAKE SURE YOU SIT AT THE SUSHI BAR. You sit there and the chefs make it faster than you can eat it. Theres like 4-6 guys working the bar so you ask for anything anytime and its made right away, plus its good fish. I highly recommend, and no matter how short of a time I'm in Vegas (usually I go 4-5 times a year) I ALWAYS make sure to have one meal there.

Re: Restaurants in Vegas?

You would be talking about the best sushi I've ever had.. "Sushi on Tropicana"

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Goooooood....!!!!!!!

I can't wait to go back. The trick is to only go with one other person and not during the lunch or dinner rush. The sushi chefs can only work so fast and I find I fill up quickly on sushi if I don't eat it rapidly. What a pig I am!

Emeril's Fish House is at the MGM GRAND. took my friend for her Birthday We were both dissapointed. I agree that the Alladin Buffet is Better than Belagio and Cheaper. however the best Buffet to me is The Bayside Buffet at Mandaly Bay. They had the best turkey, best Buffet Prime Rib, And For You Crab Lovers, DUNGENESS Claws & Legs Oh Yeah don't Forget the Seared Giant Scallops! AS Far as Steak Houses go I Perfer THE RANGE at the Harrahs Casino. There's an Elevator that goes to the 2nd floor offering Views of the las Vegas strip, plus while you wait there's a Lounge with 2 Musicians that Play Excellent jazz & Oldies The Prime Rib is Good, The Steaks are Good, Sea Food is good also. I enjoy the Bagel Chips appetizer and Different Breads. Damn Now I'm getting Hungry. Vegas is Only 3 1/2 Hours away....... As far as Coffee Shop Food goes The Peppermill across from the Stardust Has Good Rib eye steaks Comes with Broiled Mushrooms. Their Bar Has been voted Best romantic Hideaway for several years straight.

take 'em to the circus circus buffet!! mmmm, soooo disgusting.. you could always get some good chinese food at sam woo's, aka "the woo". i think its in the little chinatown part of town. of course then again bellagio, mgm grand, venetian, paris, mandalay, etc could all be mistaken as little chinatown, but i dont mean those places..

Re: Restaurants in Vegas?

You can always go yo MSN.com and look under "city guides." Type in Las Vegas, click restaurants, and you can see the "favorites" that all of the locals voted on.

Re: Restaurants in Vegas?

Thanks Mooser-- did that the first day I prefer Zagats, as I've tended to notice that "local" favorites in any city tend to be where price meets quality, or a little less on the quality side. When you live in a city, you're less prone to splurge all the time. I think I've got the list finalized-- I just want the best food I can find, and price isn't an option, cuz it's the old folks paying for the weekend Oh, how I miss them *tear*

Try the Boardwalk buffet..or Sassy Sally's deli downtown..."double jackpots"...wait don't ! If we ever have a meet you'd strangle me or worse!! I drive a G but have never heard of those places...except Alan Alberts and Delmonicos..but have never been. Guess I drive "champagne" on a "beer" budget!!

Re: Restaurants in Vegas?

There ya go. About 2 years ago, we had a family reunion/get-together in Vegas. My older sister insisted that we all have dinner at the Paris Buffet one night. $27 just to walk in. Whew! I'm not into that Cajun/Loo-Zee-Anna food, but everyone loved it. Me, I didn't get my money's worth. Just a thought.

Re: Restaurants in Vegas?

The chinese restaurant at the Bellagio sucks. Maybe for an "americanized" chinese restaurant its ok. I found their food to be bland and flavorless, My wife's chinese, and she was disgusted at that place.

If you like ribs, the Rainforest Cafe in the MGM grand is AWESOME. If you like steak, the Smith and Willenski(sp?) which is on the strip in between the Harley Cafe and MGM is also awesome.
