Team Transport Motorsports is an older, well known team. When Ritche Bautista retired from the scene, he handed the reins over to Ed to make a go of it. The rest of Team Transport (~30 folks) drifted apart. Ed posted out last Fall to see if anybody would show with him. We showed once last dec at Pomona, (caution: long thread with lots of pixes, some are missing though)mostly for fun and to check out the other rides. Then the Team went back to sleep.
Ed has got the bug again and wants to make a go of it. He wasn't sure if he could find anyone (G owner's on this board) that would be interested. he was wrong, as you can tell - we've got a lot of interest brewing. Tomorrow is more of kick-off business meeting (and stuff your face with chinese dimsum!)
Ed is very laid back about the team. I don't think it will be an agressive team, meaning - everybody has to have forced induction (turbos/SCs) or $100k in stereo/video upgrades etc... It's more of, show what you got, upgrade as you like, let's have fun and help each other out.
If we were a bowling team, you'd probably have to keep telling us its our turn to throw the ball 'cuz we'd be hanging out and talking. As far as I have seen from Ed, it is low pressure. There is a committment to show at least 2-3 times a year in the Southern CA area (Bakersfield to San Diego) and there may be optional SF area or LV area shows. He is aiming at 5-10 showing opportunities per year....getting to 2 or 3 should not be to hard for someone wanting to be on a Team.
Do we care if we earn a trophy? Not so far as I can tell. Do we want to win trophies...sure, who doesn't. But let's have fun.
Membership, at this time is open to anyone with a quality ride. No duct tape, ripped interiors, crappy cars. So off the dealer floor, you're good to go! This is still under discussion (part of tomorrow's meeting, so stay tuned.
All those who complete the profile above, and PM me their email/contact info will receive a copy of tomorrow's minutes. A completed profile, for now, is your "pre-approved application".

LOL.. I've got someone I'm gonna use already, but thanks for the offer.
Of course, if the team is ever in Cerritos on a Sunday, that would be even easier [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]. We can do a photo shoot (me being an amateur, it may not be great, but fun, maybe one or two poster-quality shots...).

Sweet thanks for the info Ted, but im not much im not really able to put much moding into my car (2 year lease), as all i have is clear corners, infinity refrence speakers, and a stillen CAI on order, but i sure do wax it a lot. Let me know what you guys decide in tomorrow's meeting. Thanks!
