Team Transport: readiness

hey team transport people:
just wondering how ready your cars are for show. the basic requirement for showing IMO is rims. if i remember correctly, one of our guys has hook ups for Axis rims. right?
personally, i need to de-swirl, claybar, wax, CG, etc. and rims. i think we should start getting ready so we dont look stupid at the shows. even thought it would be hard since we have such bad *** cars. xP

Re: Team Transport: readiness

Well, I don't have rims yet, but I am not too worried. The 17" Alloy factory rims will just have to suffice for now unless we get hooked up!

Besides the mods I already have, this next month is gonna be pretty good:

* Crawford Plenum powder coated blue
* Samco hoses - blue (soon I HOPE!)
* TechFlex dress up (carbon, neon blue and chrome kits)
* GroundingGear - blue
* Custom billet grille
* Varad LED underbody kit
* Right side battery cover from StrictlyZ

I tend to do a heavy detailing the week before the event, with another detailing the day before (I take the day off of work)

One thing I definitely need to do is get my NISMO bumper repainted...I've had a couple rock chips and the wife found a couple of parking headstones, as well as some sharp driveways. I need to get the right battery cover painted anyway.

Does anybody know of a paint shop that would want to be the "official" team shop? I've heard of a few guys locally that have used Fleet Auto on Valley, but I have not experience with them.

Cheers, ted

Just got back from the east coast. I don't think it is all that big a deal, just get it detailed the day before if you can. She should be clean and nice, but certainly doesn't have to be a trailer queen.

Re: Team Transport: readiness

Listen to Tom Lehrer and his famous song:
"All the World seems in tune
On a gay afternoon,
As we poison the pigeons in the park......."
When the birdies see us, they all try to hide
But they still go for peanuts
When covered in cyanide...."
Not exactly PC, but its out there from.....1964!!
Along with another of his sensitive hit songs. The Vatican Rag.
Ok, now I have animal lovers and one of the most powerful religions hunting me down. Folks, I did not write the songs. But they are funny. And I love Christmas even though I laugh at Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer on the radio too.

Re: Team Transport: readiness

hahaha. I ain't looking for SHOW SHOW cars. If i was, i don't think i would have much of a team! This is all about having fun and chilling with G35 friends. Developing a much stronger bond with each other. i think you'll get what i mean when we actually have our first show! I am excited. I just ordered my RIMS! hahahaha. Hopefully my order won't get messed up this time! I guess second time is the Charm?

what i am getting? Hum....debating if i should tell you guys! hehehe

Re: Team Transport: readiness

Hey NuttyProf:

the TechFlex stuff is a flexible hi-temp wiring cover. Tinman turned me onto it, as he uses wire loom. So I called their headquarters, wrote a nice letter and got a sponsorship

Their kits should be showing up any day now and I'll post up some pix once I figure it all out and get it installed.

As for the grille.... my car is sitting over in T-REX Billet Grille's warehouse right now. They just got done with Rob's coupe (he gets his grille installed today). They are fitting my sedan for upper and lower grilles (NISMO Body kit) I have no idea what they are doing, but I have faith. Besides, who's gonna complain when someone's working on bringing a sedan product to market!

Cheers, Ted
