I think a new M5 would eat me off the line but I would catch and maybe pass it by the end. With any luck we can see next weekend. I think I could go to Firebird Friday or Speedworld Sat if they are having races.

Cool! I'm heading to firebird this friday (May 7th) to race a friend in her G35.

I just got back from firebird today and it was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got there early and got in about 3 runs in 20 minutes-- usually it takes me 4 hours to get 3 runs.

After a couple hours a thousand cars show up and they are letting all those POS muscle cars run... 3 consecutive blow outs occured.. each one took about 30 minutes to clean up which resulted in huge line up of cars and about an hour and thirty minute wait.

I wouldn't mind those muscle cars if they were such POS cars... Seriously, people need to take care of their cars before they come to the track to race.. Lots of pissed off people.

But, yeah.. Your car would be a total sleeper.. 500+ whp is no joke.

That's why I like speedworld better, there are never as many people. It gets busy but it's not as crazy.

ttrank I would like to see that race. The M5 is wicked fast. With twin turbos and a fully built motor you should definately give him a run for his money. Have you run your car in the quarter mile since you got it back?

No, I'm still breaking in the motor and clutch. Unfortunately I got a screw in one of my rear tires and it won't hold air. I'm getting new rear tires on Friday but may not be back down in time to make it all the way down there. Is the M5 still going to be there?

ttrank we are not going to go this Friday because I had surgery today. Got in sooner than I planned because of a cancellation. We are probably going to go in a week or two. If you like I can let you know when we head out there.

I went up to Speed World last Friday night. Got there late ~11:00 and someone had just sprayed the track down with coolant. A guy with a newer GTO had his main coolant pipe come off and didn't figure it out until he was most of the way down the track. We gave up and left around 12:45am when they said it was still going to be another two hours before the track would re-open. I was mad because I paid my $25 and sat around for nothing!!
