UH A quick check of TRAVELWORM.Com I found Stratosphere on the end of the strip for $79 friday night and $89 Saturday night. Might save a little more gas to stay on the strip? Thanks for the leg work though.

We'd looked at some of the North-end hotels, but dismissed them. Don't let proximity fool you. It's actually quicker to get to the heart of the strip from the south side of Vegas. Gdupg35 and Tinman will attest-- on a weekend, going from the north end to the main strip is a nightmare. It takes me 8-10 minutes to go from my doorstep to the valet stand at the Bellagio, whereas last night it took approximately half an hour to go from the Hilton (closer, mind you, than the Strat) to the Venetian. 4 miles at maybe 10mph vs. 7 miles at 60mph. Since there's a lot of construction going on (Wynn, monorail, etc.) on the east side of the strip, it's becoming next to impossible to get TO the strip from that side unless you take Maryland and then sit on Flamingo, Trop, etc. while trying to get on the strip. Just FYI [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img] I'd say I'll go do a dry run, but I've driven to/from the strip enough time from the north and south sides, that I can say without hesitation that you'll waste more gas sitting on LV Blvd. Feel free to make your own arrangements, though--

I appreciate all that you guys have done. I stayed at the Stratosphere During CES. No problems with security or speed bumps. I used to practially live In Vegas, I used to be there almost every month. The only hotel I rember hating for their MASSIVE Speed BUmp/ Crosswalk was the Rio.
I don't want to sign up yet because i'll be there Earlier in May And the First weekend in June for My Birthday....... I might be a Little Vegased out.......

PS- Fiesta Hotel & Casino offers "VIP" (read: covered and monitored) parking, and their lot is monitored by security guards 24/7. The only apprehension I have at all about GVR is that if someone were RIDICULOUSLY lowered, they might have a problem going up/down the ramps or over the 3-4" speedbumps. I have yet to see/hear of any problems, and have seen lowered cars on the top deck frequently, but let me know if you are worried about this, and I can go get angles for the ramps.
